(1) Johanna Zorn, the Executive Director of the Third Coast Festival, is leaving the organization in the fall. The development was announced through a letter published on the Third Coast website, which also indicated that the organization, between its Board of Directors and current staff members, will begin the search for a replacement at the end of the month. The intention, it seems, is to fill the position by the fall of this year.
You can read the full letter here. I’ll expand more on this come Tuesday.
(2) Samantha Henig, the editorial director of the New York Times’ audio team, is leaving the news organization at the end of the month. I can’t stress how significant this is. Henig, in so many ways, originated the department that would go on to produce, market, monetize, and grow The Run-Up, The Daily, Caliphate, Still Processing, and so on.
Her last day at the organization will be May 31. Her next step remains unclear, but if it’s in the audio world, you can trust I’ll be watching closely.
