In case you missed it, here’s that story, and here’s the big takeaway: “The number of events that have sold based on podcasts has increased by over 2000% in the past six years, according to ticket sales data from Vivid Seats, one of the largest independent ticket vendors in North America.”
Just a thought: when I look at the list of the best selling live podcast shows and their average ticket prices, I’m thinking about the ditty I wrote this past Tuesday on podcasting and star power. To state the obvious: ticket sales and prices would be solid data points to complement listenerships if you tried to quantify star power as a kind of wonky-ass metric, like player efficiency ratings or something.
Or maybe I’m just thinking too much about Dork Elvis.
