Apple Bug Resolved

Phew, back to normal

In Tuesday’s newsletter, I put together a quick write-up on something that a reader flagged: a topic on the Apple iTunes discussion board complaining about an authentication bug preventing a decent number of people from submitting new podcasts for inclusion into the Apple Podcasts directory. This, I was told, has been happening for about two weeks.

I was digging into the story today until I received an update on the matter: the bug appears to have been resolved.

For what it’s worth, I’m glad to hear that, but it nonetheless served as a strong reminder that, despite podcasting’s identity as an open publishing site, its openness is still contingent on the behaviors of a centralized platform.
